The response to virtually every Firefox release it the last ten years or so: "That's an interesting feature! How do I disable it?".
Actually it's not just Firefox, that's a ton of other stuff like that as well. In the Firefox case though, about:config and set browser.nova.enabled to false.

I think the laggy animations, gradients, and rounded corners make it look and feel like it was vibe-coded!
After some of Mozilla's other recent decisions, this might be the push I needed to look for a new browser. Anyone got recommendations?

Firefox is the alternative. If that's not enough, you can write one, it is not that hard, you can use ... vibe coding
Or try carbonyl or browsh. You'll definitely have no problems with roundness and animations, although other problems might rise, they are terminal browsers. Note that one is chrome, other is firefox based.

hmm, I don't know - I've been using Zen [1] primarily the last couple of hours and it seems to have come a long way since I last tried it.
Thanks for sharing carbonyl & brownsh, they seem quite cool. Just not sure they'd be the perfect fit for me as my primary browser.
